Job Summary:
The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Pharma Business Unit within Promopharm. This includes driving the strategic and marketing direction, achieving financial targets, managing a cross-functional team, expanding product offerings through portfolio management and business development, and ensuring the success of the unit’s products or services in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning:
o Develop and implement the business unit's strategic plan, aligning with the company's overall objectives.
o Identify growth opportunities within the therapeutic area or market segment.
o Work closely with other departments and team-members to identify and assess opportunities for portfolio expansion.
o Set clear goals and KPIs for the unit and ensure alignment with corporate strategies.
2. Financial Management:
o Prepare and manage the business unit’s budget, including revenue forecasts, expense management, and profitability targets.
o Analyze financial performance, ensuring that the unit meets or exceeds its financial goals.
3. Sales & Marketing:
o Lead the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and sales strategies.
o Set team quarterly and annual sales targets per product and region.
o Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt strategies as needed.
o Foster relationships with key customers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
4. Product Management:
o Oversee the lifecycle management of products within the business unit.
o Ensure timely and successful product launches with cross-functional teams.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards.
5. Team Leadership:
o Manage, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
o Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team.
o Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and support to team members.
6. Regulatory & Compliance:
o Ensure that all activities within the business unit comply with local regulatory requirements.
o Work closely with the regulatory affairs to stay updated on changes in regulations and their impact on the business.
o Ensure that marketing and sales practices adhere to ethical and compliance standards.
7. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
o Engage with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders to build strong relationships.
o Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings, and events.
o Gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to inform product development and business strategies.
8. Reporting & Analysis:
o Prepare regular reports on the business unit's performance, including sales data, financials, and market analysis.
o Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior management.
o Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, pharmacy, life sciences, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.
• Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive business growth.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory requirements, market dynamics, and product lifecycle management.
