Description


Job Overview:

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring products of quality in production, while identifying defects before its release, in addition to the compliance of the HACCP and ISO practices in designated locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Production

Verify that production is done according to the approved recipes, method of preparation and SOPs set by the Production Manager & Quality Control Manager.
Perform calibration tests on production line as per set frequency and records it.
Support the Quality Control Supervisor/Manager on production line optimization, identifying bottlenecks and data collection.
Day to day physical tests on several stages of the production: semi-finished product and finished product (when possible) and notify Production Manager, Quality Control Manager for any non-conformity.
Drive corrective actions through all parameters (method, material, manpower, working environment…), ensure follow-up and effectiveness.
Verify that proper correction and corrective actions are taken.
Identify new batches produced, verify that products are stored in the on-hold section until the products are approved for dispatching, as per set quality control check that is recorded.
Perform quality control checks on products (labelling and sealing, texture, color, weight
Work on reducing waste through constant update on product conditions.
Ensure shelf-life standards of all products are strictly followed.
Escalate all challenges and areas of concern to Quality Control Manager / Production Manager
Quality & Food Safety Systems:

Assist in the development of the quality & food safety policies and procedures in place.
Help, develop, maintain, and update all records, manuals, training procedures as pertain to food safety and quality control.
Ensure production lines are conform to food safety and quality requirements.
Responsible for performing sanitation verification and testing on equipment and other areas required.
Responsible of monitoring the production steps, especially the CCPs where corrective action is needed in case of deviation
Ensure efficient workflow is in place to allow prevention of cross contamination
Monitor and verify food handlers’ practices and make sure they are done according to the food safety guidelines
Collect product samples for food safety and quality department
