Description


Job Scope:
The Senior Legal Officer is responsible for monitoring and advising on all legal matters, commercial contracts and agreements, both internal and external, to ensure proper assessment of risks, proper management of company’s legal obligations, adherence to laws and regulations while providing legal expertise to management and different departments.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare, follow up and file law suits in cooperation with legal firms and/or directly with Lebanese Courts, review ongoing cases, report outcome results and raise recommendations accordingly;
- Follow-up on administrative transactions with concerned governmental bodies and authorities such as permits to build fuel stations, marine property issues, Ministry of Environment cases to name a few;
- Prepare needed documents related to the renewal of NSSF Annual clearance for each company;
- Follow up with local municipalities to pay the annual municipality fees;
- Continuously log in and check the Ministry of Finance website for updates and to pay the Annual Tax Property fees; - Handle and follow up any raising matter or issue with the Ministry of Economy;
- Follow up with clients to settle their dues in addition to drafting, preparing and sending warnings to clients and/or suppliers as requested by relevant departments and directorates based on management approval;
- Draft and prepare warnings for employees in coordination with concerned from HR;
- Build, maintain and nurture solid relationships with customers, banks, legal firms, lawyers, auditors, suppliers, insurance, public and governmental institutions, ministries and any other party who might have business dealings with IPT;
- Prepare, review and follow up contracts and agreements such as lease contracts and fuel sales contracts to name a few;
- Confirm compliance of contracts and agreements with all statutory and legal requirements and ensure they are registered in the relevant public administrations in accordance with the applicable regulations;
- Review and provide legal advice to concerned on agreements and contracts, tenders, ongoing cases and any other document that might get the company into legal proceedings or conflicts;
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Education
Bachelor Degree in Law, Masters is a plus
