Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for overseeing the storage, inventory, and distribution of food, supplies, and kitchen materials within the central kitchen and restaurants. This role ensures the efficient and organized management of stock, proper rotation, and timely replenishment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of inventory management, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
• Maintain accurate inventory levels of all food items, kitchen supplies, and equipment in the central kitchen and restaurant locations.
• Perform daily stock checks and record all goods received and issued.
• Monitor stock expiry dates and implement proper stock rotation (FIFO).
• Ensure that food and supplies are properly stored according to safety and hygiene standards.
2. Receiving and Storage:
• Receive deliveries, check against purchase orders, and inspect the quality of items to ensure they meet company standards.
• Properly label and store all items, including dry, refrigerated, and frozen goods.
• Ensure storage areas are organized and kept clean to prevent spoilage and contamination.
3. Stock Replenishment:
• Work closely with kitchen staff to track consumption rates and replenish stock as needed.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products and ingredients to avoid shortages.
4. Record Keeping and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, including receiving, issuing, and stock adjustments.
• Generate weekly or monthly reports on inventory levels, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Assist with periodic stock audits and help identify and resolve any stock discrepancies.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations in all storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store room and cold storage areas.
• Assist with training kitchen staff on proper storage practices and stock handling procedures.
6. Collaboration:
• Work closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and restaurant managers to ensure smooth inventory flow and supply availability.
• Coordinate with the purchasing department to place orders based on stock needs and forecast.
Qualifications & Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred: culinary or hospitality-related education).
• Proven experience as a Store Keeper or in a similar role, preferably within a kitchen or foodservice environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control procedures.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work under pressure.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
