Rifitel Nigeria Limited, a leading MEP contracting and engineering services company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Electrical Design Engineer to join our Engineering & Design Team. The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in electrical building services design and deep knowledge of MEP systems integration.
Key Responsibilities
Design complete electrical building services systems (LV distribution, lighting, small power, ELV, earthing, lightning protection, etc.).
Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and load schedules.
Develop BOQs, technical specifications, material submittals, and engineering calculations.
Coordinate design interfaces with Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, and BMS teams.
Review and validate shop drawings and ensure alignment with design intent.
Perform voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, distribution board design, and short-circuit analysis.
Participate in value engineering and propose cost-effective design solutions.
Support site teams with design clarifications, RFIs, and technical guidance.
Ensure all designs comply with industry codes and standards (IEC, BS, NEC, NFPA, local regulations).
Prepare design reports, project documentation, and presentations.
Requirements
B.Eng / B.Tech / HND in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 7 years experience in electrical design for MEP/building services.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience is a major advantage.
Proven experience preparing design drawings, calculations, BOQs, and specifications.
Excellent knowledge of international electrical standards.
Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail.
