The Operations Supervisor oversees day-to-day poultry farm activities to ensure optimal bird health, production efficiency, biosecurity compliance, and smooth farm operations. This position supervises farm workers, monitors environmental and production parameters, coordinates feeding and vaccination schedules, and ensures adherence to animal welfare and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Farm Operations
Supervise and coordinate all daily poultry house activities.
Monitor bird behavior, mortalities, feed consumption, and water levels.
Ensure proper climate control (temperature, humidity, ventilation) inside poultry houses.
Oversee cleaning, disinfection, litter management, and equipment maintenance.
2. Bird Health & Welfare
Monitor flock health and promptly report abnormalities to the Farm Manager or veterinarian.
Ensure proper implementation of vaccination programs and medication administration.
Enforce animal welfare standards and humane handling practices.
3. Staff Supervision & Training
Lead, train, and supervise farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed correctly and safely.
Assign daily responsibilities and provide hands-on guidance when needed.
Evaluate team performance and support skill development.
4. Biosecurity & Safety Compliance
Enforce all biosecurity protocols (entry procedures, clothing/boot changes, sanitation).
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Identify risks and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment.
5. Production Monitoring & Reporting
Track and record key production indicators (FCR, weight, mortality, growth performance).
Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for management.
Assist in planning flock placement, thinning, and final harvest activities.
6. Resource & Inventory Management
Ensure adequate supply of feed, bedding, vaccines, and farm materials.
Monitor feed bin levels and coordinate orders with suppliers.
Manage and maintain farm equipment for efficient operation.
7. Coordination & Communication
Work closely with the Farm Manager, veterinarians, feed suppliers, and transport teams.
Support planning and execution of flock cycles, cleanout, and restocking.
Communicate operational issues and improvement suggestions.
