Description


The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all poultry production activities to ensure optimal flock performance, high productivity, and compliance with biosecurity and animal welfare standards. This role supervises production teams, monitors flock performance indicators, ensures accurate recordkeeping, and supports continuous improvement in production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
1. Flock Management & Performance

Oversee daily bird management activities including feeding, watering, lighting, and environmental controls.

Monitor flock performance metrics such as weight gain, mortality, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and uniformity.

Identify production issues early and coordinate corrective actions with the Production Manager or veterinarian.

Assist with flock placement, thinning, catching, and final harvest operations.

2. Production Planning & Coordination

Implement production schedules and ensure timely execution of all farm tasks.

Coordinate flock cycles, house preparation, brooding procedures, and clean-out processes.

Ensure proper feed management, feed bin monitoring, and communication with feed suppliers.

Maintain accurate stocking densities and ensure compliance with production plans.

3. Staff Supervision & Training

Supervise and coach farm workers involved in production tasks.

Assign daily duties and ensure proper execution of feeding, sanitation, and bird-handling procedures.

Train staff on biosecurity, welfare standards, equipment use, and emergency procedures.

Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.

4. Biosecurity, Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict biosecurity protocols across all production areas.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, health standards, and company SOPs.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment and promote safe work practices.

Report and document any incidents, deviations, or safety violations.

5. Recordkeeping & Reporting

Maintain accurate and timely production records (feed intake, mortality, treatments, weights).

Prepare daily, weekly, and batch performance reports.

Analyze production results and propose improvements to enhance productivity and profitability.

Support audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation.

6. Equipment & Facility Oversight

Ensure all production equipment (feeders, drinkers, ventilation, lighting) operates efficiently.

Coordinate maintenance needs and report equipment failures promptly.

Monitor litter quality, ventilation systems, and environmental conditions continuously.
