II. ROLE
The role involves providing technical support for ophthalmology equipment, ensuring proper installation, maintenance, and optimal performance of medical devices. The Biomedical Engineer works closely with distributors, healthcare professionals, and suppliers to support product usage, troubleshoot technical issues, and assist in training end users. The position also requires supporting commercial activities by presenting product features and assisting with client follow-ups.
III. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, configure, and test ophthalmology equipment at client sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and servicing of medical devices to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to ophthalmology equipment.
• Provide technical training and support to distributors, doctors, and clinic staff on the proper use of equipment and software.
• Assist in product demonstrations and explain technical specifications to clients.
• Support sales activities through client visits, follow-ups, and technical presentations.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding product updates, maintenance procedures, and technical inquiries.
• Ensure all equipment complies with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain accurate service reports, technical documentation, and maintenance records.
• Monitor equipment performance and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
• Travelling when required.
IV. REQUIREMENTS in terms of experience, education and competencies
• BS in Biomedical engineering or any medical related field
• Zero to three years of relevant experience
• Good communication skills
• Strong personality, people-oriented
• Passion for technology, adaptable
• Handy skills
• Physical ability to carry heavy equipment if needed
