Description


Objective:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for preparing mechanical drawings, specifications, and BOQs, coordinating with project teams, and supporting material selection and technical documentation for mechanical systems in construction projects.

Responsibilities:
A. Design & Documentation
- Prepare mechanical design drawings and shop drawings for construction projects.
- Develop and review BOQs related to mechanical works.
- Prepare all technical details and calculations.
- Ensure drawings reflect approved specifications and project scope.

B. Materials & Procurement Support
- Selection of mechanical materials in coordination with drawings and specifications.
- Provide materials specifications.
- Support procurement department in purchasing process of mechanical materials.

C. Coordination
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical and other departments.
- Participate in meetings with clients and other departments.
- Technical Support for execution team.

D. Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with local and international codes and standards.
- Apply project specifications and quality requirements.
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Report non-conformities and support corrective actions.

E. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain organized records of drawings, BOQs, and approvals.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to the MEP Manager.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical design in construction or contracting environments
- Strong understanding of Mechanical systems and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Knowledge of international standards (IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit knowledge is an advantage.
- BOQ preparation and material take-off skills.
