The Injection Technician is responsible for the setup, programming, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Programming
- Set up and start injection molding machines according to production requirements.
- Program and adjust machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, injection speed, holding pressure, and cycle time.
- Perform mold installation, changeovers, and machine commissioning.
- Optimize machine settings to improve productivity and product quality.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
Quality Control
- Inspect molded products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and resolve molding defects such as flash, short shots, burn marks, sink marks, and warpage.
- Ensure machines and molds are operated safely and efficiently.
- Recommend process improvements to reduce scrap and increase efficiency.
- Participate in production optimization and cost-reduction initiatives.
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in plastic injection molding operations, maintenance, and programming.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
- Ability to read technical drawings, machine manuals, and electrical diagrams.
- Machine programming and parameter adjustment.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
