The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of commercial performance within their region. They set objectives, oversee their execution by the Sales Supervisors, drive the development of the client portfolio, and ensure alignment between the group's commercial policy and its implementation in the field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Pricing and Commercial Policy
Develop and input the product price list based on market studies and competitor analysis
Adjust price proposals and discount terms according to the desired positioning and market realities
Analyze the impact of pricing on margin and regional competitiveness
Market Research and Planning
Plan and input the schedule for market studies and competitive analysis at the regional level
Develop strategic recommendations, and define and monitor control KPIs related to market research
Customer Performance Evaluation
Analyze satisfaction indicators and propose improvement plans
Oversee the handling and follow-up of customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution
Client Portfolio Development
Define the strategy for developing and retaining the region's client portfolio
Oversee prospecting and acquisition of new accounts
Validate supervisors' action plans regarding client development
Reporting, Proforma Follow-up, and CRM System
Oversee proforma follow-up and ensure their conversion into actual sales
Ensure proper use and up-to-date maintenance of the CRM system by the teams
Consolidate and analyze commercial reports (sales, pipeline, conversion)
Dormant Stock Management
Oversee dormant stock reporting (slow-moving/dead stock) by branch
Define and drive destocking or reallocation actions between points of sale
Objective Setting and Incentives
Set individual and collective sales targets by branch
Define bonus/incentive schemes linked to target achievement
Track target achievement and adjust action plans accordingly
Merchandising and Product Display
Validate merchandising updates and product displays in showrooms
Ensure compliance with visual and display standards set by headquarters
Collaboration with the Marketing Team
Collaborate with the marketing department on campaign execution
Relay field needs (products, promotions, materials) to the marketing team
Participate in planning regional promotional activities
People Management and Supervision
Supervise, coach, and evaluate the region's Sales Supervisors
Validate supervisors' action plans and ensure proper execution
Support team skill development through regular coaching
Compliance, Collaboration, and Internal Regulations
Comply with all company policies, internal regulations, procedures, standards, HSE and workplace requirements applicable to the role.
Maintain confidentiality of company information, customer information, financial information, and any other sensitive business data.
Perform all duties with professionalism, discipline, integrity, and respect for the company’s rules and reporting lines.
Report any irregularities, risks, violations, operational issues, or non-compliance matters to the direct manager or the relevant department in accordance with company procedures.
Cooperate with internal audits, inspections, reviews, investigations, and compliance checks when required.
Maintain proper documentation, records, reports, and system updates related to the role, in accordance with company requirements.
Participate in training sessions, workshops, and development activities to continuously improve professional knowledge, technical skills, role-related knowledge, and job performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Management or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales, with 2 years at least in a senior role.
Proven ability to lead, supervise, evaluate, and develop sales teams.
Ability to establish sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in CRM and ERP tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to prepare and analyze sales reports, forecasts, quotations, conversion rates, and other commercial performance indicators.
Strong French language proficiency, including speaking, reading, and writing.
