Civil Project Engineer – EPC, Structural & High-End Fit-Out Projects - Iraq
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Civil Project Engineer with a strong EPC-oriented profile, capable of taking ownership of projects from engineering coordination and procurement through site execution and final handover.
The ideal candidate must be technically strong, highly site-oriented, and exceptionally detail-focused, with the ability to understand construction requirements in depth, identify issues early, and translate engineering and design requirements into accurate, high-quality execution.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage civil, structural, and architectural works, ensuring proper execution in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Lead the execution of reinforced concrete and structural works, as well as high-end finishing and fit-out projects.
• Work deeply into construction details, interfaces, tolerances, levels, sequencing, and workmanship, providing practical solutions to technical and site-related issues.
• Review and coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP requirements, resolving discrepancies and interfaces before they affect execution.
• Manage site activities, subcontractors, resources, progress, quality, inspections, snagging, and handover.
• Manage the engineering-to-procurement interface, including BOQs, material take-offs, technical specifications, scopes of work, technical evaluations, material approvals, and procurement follow-up.
• Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams throughout project delivery.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience in reinforced concrete, structural execution, and general civil works.
• Proven ability to independently manage and execute civil and structural projects from mobilization through completion and handover.
• Strong experience in high-end finishing and fit-out works is highly preferred.
• Strong technical capability in reviewing and coordinating structural, architectural, and MEP drawings, resolving discrepancies and interfaces, and translating design details into accurate site execution.
• Demonstrated proficiency in BOQs, technical specifications, procurement, subcontracting, construction methodology, and project sequencing.
• Strong project management, site management, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience in steel structure execution will be considered an advantage.
• Practical experience in applying PMI project management methodologies and best practices will be considered an advantage.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 for planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring will be considered an advantage.
• Must be proficient in Total Station and capable of independently carrying out and verifying setting-out works, coordinates, levels, grids, and structural elements.
